More About ISO/IEC 30107
BioID’s Liveness Detection is compliant with ISO/IEC 30107.
Liveness detection was successfully audited by TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜViT) in Germany against criteria based on FIDO Biometric Certification Requirements v1.1 and ISO/IEC 30107-3:2017. TÜViT is an accredited biometric testing laboratory experienced in regulated third-party testing and FIDO certifications.
ISO/IEC 30107-3 is the international standard for presentation attack detection. It includes methods for performance assessment of PAD mechanisms. It gives guidance on how to report testing results from evaluations of presentation attack detection mechanisms. Also, the ISO standard includes a classification of known attack types. The attack classes can be grouped into levels A, B, and C or 1, 2, and 3.
In addition to the independent testing procedure conducted by TÜViT, BioID’s liveness detection has also been validated during a customer’s FIDO biometric component certification. This certification is based on the standards ISO 19795 and ISO 30107. The identity verification solution including BioID PAD is one of the world’s first to achieve this certification. During the certification process, BioID’s liveness detection underwent evaluation with hundreds of spoofing attacks using various materials, such as photo prints, 3D avatars, and video projection.
BioID Liveness Detection is compliant with ANSSI’s (The National Information Systems Security Agency) standard for Remote Identity Verification Providers (PVID). In 2022, BioID was successfully tested as part of a PVID-certified identity verification solution.
More About TÜV ISO/IEC 27001
ISO/IEC 27001 certification is a globally recognized standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It forms part of a framework series known as the ISO 27000 series. ISO 27001, however, centers explicitly around Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements. An Information Security Management System (ISMS) concerns all your policies, practices, personnel, documentation, and controls. It then compares this with the ISO 27001 standard and how you preserve ISO 27001’s three core pillars of information security: confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This certification demonstrates our commitment to protecting and managing our customers’ data.
The biometric industry and the industries in which our clients operate are heavily regulated. BioID offers biometric authentication software and handles sensitive private data. Therefore, our information security management system (ISMS) must comply with a data security protocol like ISO 27001 to prevent breaches and ensure we stay on the right side of industry-specific regulations.
