Independent testing reaffirms BioID’s leadership in combating against biometric spoofing and aligning with global standards.

Nuremberg, Germany – June 2025 – BioID is proud to announce that its Liveness Detection technology, integral to its BioID Web Service (BWS), has once more successfully passed the stringent biometric Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) test conducted by TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜVIT). This achievement underscores BioID’s dedication to secure, privacy-preserving, and reliable biometric authentication.

TÜVIT, a FIDO-accredited biometric laboratory and renowned evaluation body for IT Security, evaluated BioID’s software in accordance with international standards—ISO/IEC 30107-3:2023 and FIDO Biometric Certification Requirements v2.2. These are the most recognized global benchmarks for assessing biometric PAD technologies and ensuring they can effectively detect and resist spoofing attempts.

Rigorous Testing with Real-World Threats

The test exposed BioID’s liveness detection to a variety of realistic and sophisticated spoofing attacks, encompassing different Presentation Attack Instrument (PAI) species across Levels A and B—ranging from high-quality photo and video replays to 3D masks. The solution was also assessed for usability, ensuring accurate differentiation between real users and fake attempts while remaining convenient for genuine users.

BioID’s solution passed all testing criteria successfully – with an impressive 99.7% accuracy rate.
