Voice recognition

BioID's voice recognition technology is so accurate and trusted, it has been used to testify in courts.

We naturally identify ourselves by saying our name, and we can recognize a familiar voice from only a few seconds of speech. A combination of anatomical factors (size and shape of mouth, throat, etc.) and learned behaviors (pitch and speaking style) give each person’s voice a unique pattern. 

At login you say a pass phrase, such as your name. The authentication software then:

  1. Captures the audio stream
  2. Filters out background noise
  3. Breaks the sample into short segments
  4. Extracts unique features from your voice
  5. Compares these with features extracted when you registered
  6. Decides if they match
