Management team

The management team at BioID is made up of talented people with demonstrated entrepreneurial and technical success, with qualifications and expertise in R&D, management, corporate finance, sales, and marketing. The team has extensive experience in the biometric authentication market, and has built up a strong network of contacts with decision-makers, consultants, and influencers in industry, science, and government.
Ho B. Chang, CEO & Managing Director Ho Chang, founder of the company, has been CEO and Chairman of the Board since the inception of the company. Ho has more than 17 years CEO-level experience in the biometrics and IT industry. His knowledge and long-term experience in the software and security industry, as well as his extensive experience in sales and management are essential to the successful commercialization of BioID’s technologies. He graduated from the University of Toronto in Mathematics and Computer Science and has worked for companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Ontario Hydro.
Klaus G. Schroeter, CFO & Managing Director Klaus Schroeter is a visionary serial entrepreneur and brings to BioID more than 20 years of CEO/CTO-level experience in the development, management, and financing of VC-backed high-tech companies. Prior to joining BioID, he founded NANOIDENT AG and led it from a startup to a global leader in printed semiconductors with a team of more than 70 scientists and industrial engineers in Austria, Germany, France and the United States. The company received several prestigious technology and business leadership awards from the Wall Street Journal, Small Times Magazine, Frost & Sullivan and others. Klaus was selected “Entrepreneur of the Year 2007“ in Austria and represented Austria as a finalist for global accounting firm Ernst & Young’s World Entrepreneur of the Year 2008. His broad technology and management background and his worldwide network of contacts with decision-makers and influencers in industry and government will be an essential asset in expanding BioID into a global biometric authentication leader.
Dr. Robert Frischholz, CTO Robert Frischholz is co-founder of the company and has been involved in the development of the BioID technology since its birth. Prior to joining BioID, he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute in Erlangen and at Mikromak GmbH, where he was responsible for the development of motion tracking and facial recognition software, among other areas. Robert studied computer sciences, specializing in pattern recognition, at Erlangen University. His PhD was entitled “Contributions to Three-Dimensional Motions Analysis”. He was honored by Marquis Who’s Who since 1998 and IBC for his outstanding contributions to science in the fields of image processing, motion analysis, and biometrics. With numerous publications and patents, he is one of the world’s leading biometric experts.
Hagen Zurek, SVP Software Development Hagen Zurek is co-founder of the company and responsible for software development. Prior to joining BioID, he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute in Erlangen and at Mikromak GmbH, where he held positions for the development of motion tracking software, among other areas. Hagen studied computer sciences, specializing in pattern recognition, at Erlangen University. He is a certified SCRUM project manager and has excellent skills in managing large and complex software development projects.
